Chaska has been a developing city since the 1800’s. Once providing bricks for the construction of the Twin Cities, Chaska has now developed into a suburban, small-town driven neighborhood. Its current population sits at over 23,000 people. Of the households within Chaska, about half report having children of which most attend schools in School District 112. Chaska’s expansion hasn’t taken away its focus and dedication for a small town, historic atmosphere though. On the one hand new building developments, the construction of Highway 212 to intersect Chaska and a Metro Transit Route to the Twin Cities shows Chaska’s dedication to growth; while, on the other hand, the strong community programs and historic preservation shows Chaska’s dedication to its historical identity.

Located close to Chaska is Shakopee where some of Minnesota’s most popular entertainment hubs are located. Chaska is also only 30 minutes outside of the Twin Cities for an easy commute or quick recreational getaway. With the construction of Highway 212 and the implementation of the Metro Transit programs this will be even easier. Chaska‘s community center is also well renown; containing an ice rink, fitness center, and youth community programs.
